public interface DataDiff<T>

Represents the difference beween an old and new value. Allows for only updates to be transferred and then applied to the old values.

update

T update(T value)

Updates the given value. The value must be the original value used to make the diff; otherwise the output is undetermined.

Parameters:

Serializes the diff to the given output stream.

Parameters:

output - output stream

Throws:

java.io.IOException - if an I/O error occurs
